What Fits a Toyota Sienna: Roof Racks, Cargo Boxes and Hitch Carriers

Minivans carry people brilliantly and luggage badly, and a Sienna with all eight seats in use is the clearest example on this site. The space behind the third row is a deep well, and it fills with strollers before it fills with suitcases.
The Sienna has two advantages for a roof load that SUVs do not. The roof is long, so a big box fits without overhanging anything. And the roof is lower than an SUV's, so you can actually reach it — which matters more than any spec on this page when you are loading at 6am with children in the car.
The one Sienna-specific thing to watch is the sliding doors. They travel outward before they travel back, and a box that overhangs the roof edge can be in that path.
