Who we are

What we collect

Information you give us

If you use our contact form, we receive the name, email address, optional vehicle description and message you enter. We use that solely to reply to you.

We do not run a newsletter, we do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing on this site to log into.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how people arrive at the site. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device type, browser and referring site. Google Analytics 4 does not store full IP addresses.

We also record when a product link is clicked — which merchant, which page — so we can tell which recommendations are useful. That event does not contain anything that identifies you.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and abuse prevention.

What we do not collect

We do not collect payment information, because nothing is sold on this site. We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone. We do not run advertising networks or behavioral ad trackers.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish repeat visits. Amazon sets its own cookies when you follow a product link to their site, which is how a purchase is attributed to us — that cookie is set by Amazon under their terms, not by us.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics entirely using Google’s opt-out browser add-on. The site works normally either way.

Affiliate links

Product links on this site are affiliate links, routed through a resolver on our own domain before sending you to the retailer. When you arrive at the retailer, their privacy policy applies to what happens next, not ours. Full detail is on our affiliate disclosure page.

Who your data is shared with

• Google — analytics data, as the operator of Google Analytics 4.
• Microsoft — contact form messages are delivered by email through Microsoft’s mail infrastructure.
• Our hosting provider — server logs, as part of serving the site.

We share personal data with nobody else, and we never sell it.

How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with the inquiry and any follow-up, then deleted. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics 4’s standard retention settings. Server logs are kept for a short period for security purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, object to processing, or ask us to restrict it. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you additionally have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of any sale of personal information — we do not sell personal information.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Contact form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection and delivered by email rather than stored in a database on this site. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be noted here rather than made silently.
